How does MA5200G uses the user-based copy function when it enables IPTV?
Normally, when MA5200G receives the multicast packets from a multicast group, it replicates one copy of the packets to each physical interface. L2 devices will replicate them for each user in the multicast group. If L2 devices do not provideIGMP Snooping, they cannot identify the users in multicast group, and it needs to enable multicast replication function based on session at the interface of MA5200G. Therefore, MA5200G will copy the multicast packets to the session of each user directly, and send them to users.
MA5200G at V200R002 starts to provide the user-based copy function from VRP3.30-2212 for multicast packets. The system is set to user-based auto-copy, and it has no command to set the copy mode.
MA5200G at V200R003 support the function. By default, the interface does not enable user-based copy function for multicast packets. Use muticast copy by-session command to enable the function.
