Alarm Information
None
Handling Process
Step 1     Log in to the OS as a user with administrator rights.

Step 2
Open a CLI and navigate to the %IMAPROOT%\server\tools\expandDB directory:
C:\>cd \d %IMAPROOT%\server\tools\expandDB

Step 3
Run python expandDB.py and perform the following operations as prompted:
1.         Enter a sa user password.
2.         Enter the name of the database to be expanded.
3.         Enter the database expansion size. Only a number needs to be entered and the unit is MB. If the database expansion size is not specified, the system automatically expands the database based on specified rules.

In a high availability system, the preceding operations need to be performed only at the active site.

Step 4
After the database expansion is complete, check the database usage in the database monitoring window on the System Monitor client. If the value of Status is Normal, the VSM database is functioning properly.
Root Cause
Data on the database is frequently read, written, or modified.

Before troubleshooting this problem, ensure that the following conditions are met:
l      In the database monitoring window on the System Monitor client, Status of a database is Abnormal, which indicates that the database usage has exceeded the maximum value.
l      Critical or major alarms indicating that the database usage exceeds the maximum value are displayed in the VSM alarm window.
l      The troubleshooting method is applicable to the VSM V100R002SPC400 and later.
l      The database expansion size can be manually specified. If the database expansion size is not specified, the following default rules are used:
l      If the database size is equal to or less than 500 MB, increase 100 MB for the database.
l      If the database size is greater than 500 MB and equal to or less than 1 GB, increase 200 MB for the database.
l      If the database size is greater than 1 GB and equal to or less than 3 GB, increase 500 MB for the database.
l      If the database size is greater than 3 GB, increase 1 GB for the database.
