The USG2100 Guarantees the Bandwidth for Video Services through the Flow-control Function

Publication Date:  2012-07-24 Views:  320 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Network: video client ---USG2100---(Internet) )--- video server
Requirement: The USG2100 performs NAT by using the video client to access the video server on the public network. The video always jitters. It is required that the bandwidth of video services should be guaranteed preferentially. If there is no video service, bandwidths are not controlled.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
QoS takes effect when the interface congestion occurs. The flow-control function can meet the preceding requirement. Configuration procedure is as follows:
1. Define the traffic for video services.
ip port-set video protocol tcp
 port 0 eq 4222
 port 1 eq 3306
 port 2 eq 8222
 port 3 eq 8000
 port 4 eq 8080
 port 5 eq 6000

ip port-set videoudp protocol udp
 port 0 eq 4222
 port 1 eq 3306
 port 2 eq 8000
acl number 3999
 description videoband
 rule 5 permit tcp destination-port port-set video
 rule 10 permit tcp source-port port-set video
 rule 15 permit udp destination-port port-set videoudp
2. Configure the flow-control function except that of video services.
firewall flow-control acl 3999
firewall flow-control car cir 102400 cbs 51200 ebs 0 //When the firewall detects the video traffic, the traffic of non-video services is limited to 100 Kbps, guaranteeing that bandwidth for video services.
3. Apply the flow-control function.
interface Vlanif1
 firewall flow-control on
Root Cause
Currently, only the Eudemon 100E/200S, USG2100, and USG3000 support the flow-control function.
