On the USG5330 sWeb interface, a user uploads a license by performing the following steps:
1. Choose System > Maintenance in the Menu navigation tree.
2. Click the License Management tab. The Firewall License Information page is displayed.
3. Click Select. The License File Management page is displayed.
4. Upload the license file.
A message is displayed, indicating that the upload is successful, but the uploaded file is not displayed on the License File Management page. The user uploads the file again, the system prompts the user that the file is already imported. However, the imported license file is still not displayed on the License File Management page.
In the user view, run the delete command to delete the originally uploaded file. Save the license.dat file to the root directory of local drive C. Then upload the license again. The upload is successful and the License File Management page displays the newly uploaded license.dat file.
Through a Telnet connection to the USG5330, the query result of the dir command in the user view indicates that the name of the uploaded file changes from license.dat file to 20100420-22 usg5300. In the system view, after the license file command is executed to activate the license file, the system displays a message, indicating that opening the license file fails.
20100420-22 usg5300 is the path where the license.dat file is saved. Therefore, the problem occurs because the local path of the license file is too long.
Before you import a USG5300 license file, make sure that the local path of the license file is not too long. You are advised to save the license file to be uploaded in the root directory of drive C or drive D to avoid such a problem.
