Q: How to determine the source mac address when the empty configuration switch sends a DHCP request?
Auto-config process, power on the empty configuration switch and send a DHCP request to obtain IP address. On the DHCP server ,you can look at the IP address allocation table to determine the corresponding relations of the IP address and device mac address. Then compare the mac address and device packaging or the chassis mac Tags, to clear the corresponding relationship between IP address and the device.
Empty configuration switch sent a DHCP request by interface vlanif 1, the source mac address is the vlanif1 interface mac address. Huawei switch is divided into the following two situations:
1. If the system does not support multi-MAC, the VLANIF interface MAC and system MAC are same;
2. If the system support multi-MAC, the VLANIF interface MAC is the system MAC address +2;
The multi-MAC switch device has 16 MAC, the system MAC exclusive all(starting mac address of the device label) . FOR vlanif 1, interface mac is equal sys-mac +2.
View the mac address barcode label in the upper right corner of the cassette switch, if only one mac address, Auto-config empty configuration switch send a DHCP request ,the source mac address is the label address.
If the label shows "4C1FCC4878A0-AF (16)" 16 mac barcode ,Auto-config empty configuration switch send a DHCP request ,the source mac address is the label "4C1FCC4878A0 +2 =" 4C1FCC4878A2.
The layer 3 switch devices after V1R6 are multi-MAC devices, does not distinguish morphology.
The layer 2 switch S27/S23 and prior to V1R6 various forms of switches are single MAC device.
