Topology (Traffic flow):
a. Three S5700-28C-EI are logically stacked together using Stacking Cable.
b.Two S9706 are logically clustered together using two 10GE interfaces being the CSS-ports in X12SSA0 Uplink Boards.
c.CCTV-Camera and CCTV-Monitoring Client are also located in the same VLAN 61.
d.Traffic can be divided into two directions which is the uplink from CCTV-Camera to Network Video Recorder (NVR) for Recording and the downlink stream from Network Video Recorder (NVR) to CCTV-R
e.The objective of this testing is to investigate whether the end- to-end data flow from CCTV-Camera to NVR is identical to that of the data flow from NVR to the CCTV-Monitoring Client.
Objective: To investigate whether there is packet loss for the traffic flow from CCTV-Camera to NVR and then back streaming to the CCTV-Monitoring Client in Stacked S5700
Check the following in S9706:
a. Display mac-address table
b. Display Vlan 61
// To check whether the CCTV-Camera and CCTV-Monitoring Client mac-address had been learnt in associated vlan and incoming interfaces.
c. Display arp
// As the devices operated in the same vlan , ping the associated IP address (CCTV-Camera, CCTV-Monitoring Client, NVR Server) to create the ARP entries in S9706
d. Create ACLs to target on the source and destination IP address
e. Create Traffic Classifier to match with the ACLs.
f. Create Traffic Behaviour to match with the Traffic Classifier.
g. Create Traffic Policy to match with the Traffic classifier and traffic Behaviour
h. apply the traffic policies onto the associated interface, in this case the eth-trunk 11 logical interface and the interface gi 2/2/0/4 physical interface
By applying the traffic policy and obtain the traffic statistics, we confirm that the uplink stream from CCTV-Camera are stored in VMS and streaming back to the CCTV-Monitoring Client by NVR Network Video Recorder.
by comparing the traffic statistics and utilization of the interface, we can confirm the ingress and outgress traffic direction and whether there is packet loss during the whole path
