Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  50 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q: How does WAN mode of 10GE interface differ to its LAN mode?
Alarm Information
No
Handling Process
A: 10GE port in LAN mode is to encapsulate ethernet frame directly; 10GE in WAN mode is for compatibility with SDH transmissions over network, so frame from10GE port in WAN mode is encapsulated at SDH physical layer. Consequently, optical fiber cannot connect 10GE port in both LAN and WAN modes, resulting in difference in format of physical frame.
Root Cause
No
Suggestions
