FAQ-Are Inbound and Outbound Public Network Address Consistent When NE20 Configures NAT Server Mapping

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  35 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
Are inbound and outbound public network address consistent when NE20 configures NAT server mapping?
Version: Version 5.10, RELEASE 1253.02
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
NE20 configures NAT server mapping, inbound and outbound public network address are not the same. It will influence some VPN users. The problem can be solved by building address pool group of single address.
Root Cause
NAT translation of NE20 has no static one-to-one mapping command, it only has NAT OUTBAND  and NAT SERVER. One is for NAt translaof outbound interface and another is for static mapping of inbound interface. When public network accesses internal network server, it can access designated private network address from mapped public network adress. When private network address passes from public network, it chooses address in NAT address pool. So inbound and outbound public network address are not the same.
