Two NE5000Es are bound as one IP-Trunk through 2*2.5G POS. They are connected through transmission device. After related configuration is finished, they can ping mutually. Shutdown one POS interface. The physical layer of the second POS interface is up and the protocol is down. Check IP-trunk interface and it is down. Undo shutdown the first interface, the protocol of two POS interfaces are down and they cannot ping.
1. Connect them not through IP-Trunk. Two interfaces of NE5000E-1 and two interfaces of NE5000E-2 are connected. They are connected through two network segments. They are normal. Shut down any port and another is not influenced. There is no possibility that transmission and receiver of POS interface are mixed.
2. Add the following configuration on POS interface of two NE5000Es:
alarm lrdi sensitive
alarm prdi sensitive
alarm pais sensitive
Test by simulating POS interface problem and it is normal.

The device can check interface state of opposite device through transmission device by configuring alarm test. The physical layer interface chip provides internal register and microprocessor interface. CPU of creation/analysis module controls reading and writing and realizes alarm of physical layer and OAM test, including performance monitoring, problem check, system protection, problem or performance report and problem location, e.g. loss of signal (LOS), overflow of frame (OOF), loss of frame (LOF), line alarm indication signal (LAIS), line remote error indication (LRDI), loss of pointer (LOP), path alarm indication signal (PAIS) and path remote error indication (PRDI).
