Loadbalancing problem in Eth-Trunk link

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  61 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
NE40 and NE80 routers are connected with each other using eth-trunk link using 2 FE links in eth-trunk. It is observed that the bandwidth consumption is not equal in both these links.
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
After configuring the following command in both NE80 and NE40 routers the loablancing is OK.
[Quidway]hash-context packet all
The loadbalancing is observed to be correct.
Root Cause
Eth-trunk have two forwarding method, one is based on packate, another one is based on stream. If we didn't configure anything, the default value is based on packates. Its traffic will not be equal if we use default configurations, because after one stream, source MAC and destination MAC are confirmed, the traffic will always  go through via one link, so that on two or more links that traffic not equal.
If we change its forwarding method to based on traffic, that two links traffic will almost equal.
