FAQ-Whether the AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT Parameter in Dual-server Environment Influences the Automatic Active Standby Switchover

Publication Date:  2012-07-24 Views:  37 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
Whether the AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT parameter in dual-server environment influences the automatic active/standby switch?
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
Set AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT to 0 to perform automatic switchover faster (the time saved is AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT second), but frequent switchover between two servers occurs if the network is unstable.
1. If the abnormal communication of active/standby servers occurs, the network management make automatic switchover within AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT/60+3 minutes. Thus, in three minutes, Abnormal Copy Status will be prompted once per minute, totally 3 times.
2. If any process of the host is abnormal, the actual dual-server switchover time is also (AUTO_SWITCH_TIMEOUT/60+3). Thus, three warnings of abnormal process will be prompted in three minutes, once per minute.
