Issue Description
Q:
How to view total CPU usage or idle percentage in the solaris 5.8 system?
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
Log in as root user, and then run #sar -u 1 5 (the parameters 1 and 5 in the example can be changed as needed).
10:27:00    %usr    %sys    %wio   %idle
10:27:01       9             9            0      82
10:27:02      12            9           1      78
10:27:03      11            8           1      80
10:27:04       2             4            1      93
10:27:05      13             9           1      77
Average        9               8          1      82
During these 5 seconds, the CPU idle percentage is 82%.
Then, total CPU usage is 1- 82%=18%.
In the example, the parameter 1 means acquiring data every 1 second, and 5 means acquiring data for 5 times. These parameters can be changed according to actual needs.
