FAQ-How to Set the Bandwidth Between the NM Server and Managed Devices

Publication Date:  2012-07-24 Views:  22 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
How to set the bandwidth between the NM server and managed devices?
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
When the bandwidth between the NM server and managed devices requires that the equivalent nodes are no more than 4000, the bandwidth equals 2048 kbit/s. When equivalent nodes are more than 4000, bandwidth = (equivalent node - 4000) x 0.5 kbit/s + 2048 kbit/s.
Additionally, the minimum bandwidth between NM server and managed devices is 64 kbit/s, and the value more than 128 kbit/s is suggested.
Bandwidth between upper and lower NM station = total equivalent node of equipments managed by the lower NM station x 0.5 kbit/s.
Note: The minimum bandwidth is 128 kbit/s, and the maximum is 2048 kbit/s, that is, if the calculated bandwidth is less than 128 kbit/s, the required bandwidth is 128 kbit/s; if the calculated bandwidth is more than 2048 kbit/s, the required bandwidth is 2048 kbit/s.
