FAQ-Does the Board Consume the License When it Is Configured Off-line on Network Element and Is Displayed as Failed

Publication Date:  2012-07-24 Views:  48 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
In deployment, though the customer initially configured a few service boards (such as, 1 frame MA5600 can only be configured with 4 ADEF boards), we may fully configure the service boards offline (for example, add 0/0 to 0/15 to ADEF board by using the board add command) for the convenience of configuring data in batch. These boards that have been configured but not been inserted yet will be in failed status. Therefore, does the board which is off-line configured on network element in the status of failed consumes licenses?

Handling Process
A:
No matter whether the board is on-line or not, and whether the status is normal, it consumes the corresponding license as long as the board is added on network element by using the command board add. That is, every 60 ports of ADSL take 1 license, while every 100 pots service take 1 license.
Refer to the examples in the attachment.
