Stoppped process causes BMS TL1 command MOD-ONTPORT timeout

Publication Date:  2012-07-24 Views:  48 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
When we do the command MOD-ONTPORT for ONT HG850 FE ports, the system will reply with timeout.
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
Some days before we stopped the ETH process because we thought that it was not important for the usage we wanted.
Problem has been solved after restarting ETH process.
Root Cause
I checked that when the command is sent to the FE ports, no SNMP packets are sent from the BMS to the OLT.
;MOD-ONTPORT::DEV=10.7.24.198,FN=0,SN=1,PN=3,ONTID=0,ONTPORTTYPE=FE,ONTPORTID=2:18::VLANDEFAULT=9,PRIORITY=2;
   0 2008-05-09 08:57:25
M  18 COMPLD
   EN=2686058508   ENDESC=Task timeout
We can check in the OLT that the command was not effective:
OLTHW-TestPlant1(config-if-gpon-0/1)#display ont port vlan 3 0 byport fe 2
 ------------------------------------------------------
   port-type: FE
  ont-portid: 2
   vlan-list: 1,9
 native-vlan: 1
    priority: 0
 ------------------------------------------------------
Suggestions
The important information from this is:
- The TL1 command MOD-ONTPORT needs the ETH process to be running

END
