Handling Process

At the same passive optical network (PON) port of the GPBC service board: After the first ONT is added, the system allocates a bandwidth of 5 M to the OMCI by default, that is, the system configures T-CONT 0 fix 5M on the ONT by default. Subsequently, whenever if one ONT is added, 7 M is occupied. In the bandwidth of 7 M, 2 M is used for the GAP, not only for the OMCI, and is a required expense. Therefore, 7 M = 5 M OMCI + 2 M GAP.
The length of GAP between two upstream frames is 32 bytes .
The upstream frame is 125 us,because 1s indicates 8 K frames, in the other hand 1s includes 8 K GAPs.
32 bytes * 8 K/s  = 32 * 8 bit * 8 K = 2048 K = 2 Mbps
In addition, the bandwidth of 5 M occupied by the OMCI can be reduced. For example, the bandwidth can be reduced to 1 M and T-CONT0 can be set to assured in the R52 and the subsequent versions.
