The Client Cannot Communicate With the Alarm Box Because the Corresponding Settings of the Configuration Files Are Not Modified

Issue Description
The new alarm box in an office cannot communicate with the client. The alarm lamp is always on. The alarm box gives a continuous alarm. The communication fails.

Handling Process
1. After the settings of the alarm box of the NMS are checked by using the COM2 port and the baud rate of 19200, no problem is found. After the client of the NMS is started up, the prompt of "Alarm box initiation failed." is not displayed.
2. After pins 2 and 3 of the serial port of the computer are
short-circuited, keyboard characters can be normally entered on the HyperTerminal, which indicates that the serial port of the computer is normal.
3. After the serial port is connected and pins 5 and 6 in the RJ-45 segment are short-circuited, characters can still be normally entered on the HyperTerminal, which indicates that the cable is normal.
4. After the check that the dial switch is consistent with that described in the guide is performed, no problem is found.
5. After other alarm boxes in normal use are replaced with new alarm boxes, an alarm can be normally given, which indicates the alarm boxes themselves are normal.
6. The V200R011C02B026CP0001 version of the NMS introduces a new requirement. The configuration file /n2000/client/style/defaultstyle/conf/fault/faultboxsetting.xml defines whether to initialize the port. The default value is false. After the value is set to true and the client is restarted, the problem is solved. The relevant content in the configuration file is as follows:

Root Cause
1.The client of the NMS prompts "Alarm box initiation failed."
2. The dial switch is incorrectly dialed.
3. The communication fails due to the serial port and the RJ-45 cable.
4. The alarm box itself fails.
Suggestions
For the V200R011C02B026CP0001 version, attention should be paid to the adjustment and configuration of "faultboxinit". The default value is false. After the value is set to true and the client is restarted, the problem is solved.
