FAQ- How to control processes startup by watchman V2R11C030B015

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  25 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

Q:

After install new dual servers with watchman V2R11C030B015, all the processes have been listed in watchprocess.lst file including EmfSysMoniDm. Normally, we can mark “#” or delete the line under the file watchprocess.lst to control not to startup this process. However, this version GUI still show the process and startup even we mark out using “#” in front of the line to deny startup.

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process

A:

Check under the directory /opt/watchman/server/conf found many file include watchprocess.lst and watchman.xml. Since we had already mark unwanted-to-start process (in this case, EmfSysMoniDm) out of watchprocess.lst, then we need to check the watchman.xml also.
Watchman.xml controls the GUI of watchman view under the service status, so we need to delete EmfSysMoniDm out of the watchman.xml also. We can simply delete process under watchman.xml by right click under process in the GUI service status.

Root Cause
Previously version, startup which process can be control by the file watchprocess.lst. The version V2R11C030B015 may need other file for this purpose beyond watchprocess.lst.
Suggestions
The files which control startup process in watchman are watchprocess.lst and watchman.xml.
