FAQ-What Is the Number of Linear MSP Groups Supported by the NG-SDH

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  45 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
At present, the descriptions on the number of linear MSP groups supported by the NG-SDH in documents are not systematic, and the descriptions in some documents are slightly different. This is not beneficial for the reference in the network design, expansion, and learning. This case summarizes the support capability of the NG-SDH for your reference.

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process

The OptiX OSN 7500 supports at most 120 groups of linear MSP.
The OptiX OSN 3500 supports at most 40 groups of linear MSP.
The OptiX OSN 1500 and OptiX OSN 2500 support at most 12 groups of linear MSP each.

Root Cause

Before the description, the following two aspects must be specified:

1. The number of 1+1 and 1:N linear MSP groups depends on the number of MS protocol controllers.

2. The 1+1 and 1:N linear MSP groups in the NG-SDH share all the linear MS protocol controllers of the product.

Hence, the number of linear MSP groups supported by the NG-SDH mentioned below is actually the total number of supported linear MS protocol controllers, or the sum of the number of supported 1+1 and 1:N linear MSP groups.

Suggestions

Related personnel must know the linear MSP support capability of different products. If necessary, related personnel can refer to this case.
