FAQ-Explanation of the Two Bit Rates at Optical Interfaces of the SC1 and SC2 on the OptiX OSN 6800

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  38 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
The product manual of the OptiX OSN 6800 describes two bit rates of optical interfaces of the SC2 and SC1, which are 16.896 Mbit/s and 4.096Mbit/s. How to understand this?

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
1. The SC2 and SC1 of the OptiX OSN 6800 can work in two modes. When connected to the SC2 and SC1 of another OptiX OSN 6800, they work at 16.896 Mbit/s. When connected to the SCs of an OptiX BWS 1600G, they work at 4.096 Mbit/s.
2. The SC2 and SC1 can automatically adapt themselves to work at the bit rate of the peer end, so you do not need to set the bit rate for them on the NMS.
