FAQ-Can the NE40 and NE80 Support the PPP Packet Header Compression Function

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  47 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
Can the NE40 and NE80 support the PPP packet header compression function?

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
The cRTP function (PPP packet header compression) is not supported in V300R002.
The cRTP function can be implemented in V300R003 and V300R005. However, in the initial version of V300R003, the packet headers can only be compressed on PPP links. In V300R005, the HDLC and cRTP over MPLS functions can be implemented on PPP links.
Example:
Run the ppp compression iphc [ enhanced [ n-value value ] | nonstandard | udp-only | udpandrtp ] command. The cRTP function on PPP links is thus enabled.
By default, the cRTP function is disabled.
