FAQ-What Can You Do When the Tributary Board Fails to Be Deleted from the OptiX Metro 1000 Equipment

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  54 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
Version: Metro 1000 4.2.6.4P02 and T2000 V2R2C01
The physical tributary boards such as ET1 in slot 4, PM2S in slot 4, and SM1D in slot 3 are removed and the services are deleted. The T2000, however, displays that deleting these slots fails. The error code is 24582, indicating that the aggregate board type configured in the system is incorrect and maybe the smaller slot must be in the western direction of the ring.
Therefore, the BD_STATUS alarm on the equipment cannot be cleared.
Run the following command line: :cfg-del-board:4,et1. Then, error 0x6a19 is returned.

Handling Process
To clear the alarm but not to upgrade software, use the following solutions:
1 Change the NE to be pre-configured on the T2000. Then, the tributary board is successfully deleted.
2 Change the NE to the normal state and download data to the NE. This solution does not affect services.
Root Cause
Due to NE software bugs, the tributary board cannot be deleted from the T2000. This problem is solved in version 4.2.6.4P04.
