MS_AIS Alarm on T2SL64 board occuring due to persisting TEM_HA Alarm

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  41 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
In a certain network the 27T2SL64 is connected with DWDM LWF board. The connectivity is of STM-64 level. Upon establishing the physical connectivity the cutomer reports that MS_AIS Alarm remains on 27T2SL64  board. Upon visiting the site it is found that the ambient temperature is too high.
Alarm Information
MS_AIS
Handling Process
1- Checked the fiber and the receive and transmit powers are as per usual.
2- shecked the opposite stations cross connect boards and found them to be in place and fine.
3- checked the  alarms and found that TEM_HA alarm had also occured on the same board 2 weeks ago.
4- replaced the board and resolved the TEM_HA alarm and consequently eliminated the MS_AIS alarm.
Root Cause
Since there is no RLOS alarm and the other stations cross connect board is fine so the problem lies in the local station. The MS_AIS alarm is due to the fault in the T2 SL64 board which got faulty due to the TEM_HA alarm.
Suggestions
The equipment temperature should be within the standards defined by huawei.A precaustionary measure should be taken no close the lasers which are un operational.
