Failed to Configure MSP Switchover in Metro 1000 V2 Due to Version Defects

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  27 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Two logical systems are configured in the Metro1000 V2. The sys1 is an unprotected link and the sys2 is a ring multiplex section. Check the K bytes and status in switchover after the fiber cut, and find that they are normal. But the page is not switched. Therefore, the switchover failed. Change the sys1 into a multiplex section and the switchover is normal.
Alarm Information
TU-AIS
Handling Process
Upgrade the host to 4.02.06.52.
Root Cause
The Metro1000 V2 supports only two multiplex section logical systems, which can be configured in only sys1 and sys2.For the host versions before 4.02.06.52, the multiplex section must be configured from the sys1, that is, if there is one multiplex section logical system, it must be configured in sys1. If there are two multiplex section logical systems, they must be configured in sys1 and sys2 respectively. From the 4.02.06.52 version on, the restriction of the sequence is cancelled, that is, one multiplex section logical system are not necessarily to be configured in sys1, it can be configured in sys2.
Suggestions
Before the version 4.02.06.52, the multiplex section must be configured from the sys1, that is, if there is one multiplex section logical system, it must be configured in sys1. As a result, the fault occurs. From the 4.02.06.52 version on, the sequence restriction is cancelled. The fault can be rectified through version upgrade.
