Configuring Services for the OptiX Metro 1000 Equipment Fails Because an Incorrect Timeslot Mode Is Selected on the T2000

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  59 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
For the OptiX Metro1000 equipment in an office, a service fails to be configured from a tributary board to timeslot 22 on the OI2D board in slot 1. On the T2000, however, the port service is successfully configured. The service fails to be queried after it is configured. The service, however, can be successfully configured by using the command line.

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
Change the interleaved mode on the T2000 to by order. Then, the service from the tributary board to timeslot 22 on the OI2D board in slot 2 can be successfully configured.
Root Cause
Check the configured service. It is found that the interleaved mode is selected on the T2000 when the service is configured for the OptiX Metro 1000 equipment. After the by order mode is selected, the service can be successfully configured and queried.
The timeslot numbers in the by order mode are different from the timeslot numbers in the interleaved mode. In fact, timeslot 22 in the interleaved mode corresponds to timeslot 2 in the by order mode. Check the services of the OptiX Metro 1000 equipment and find that a service also exits from the tributary board to timeslot 2 on the SHLQ board in slot 3.
Due to the limitations of the bus of the OptiX Metro 1000 equipment, the services configured from the same tributary board to other boards cannot use the same cross-connect timeslot. Actually, the service from the tributary board to timeslot 2 on the SHLQ board in slot 3 occupies the same bus as the service from the tributary board to timeslot 22 on the OI2D board in slot 2. Therefore, the used timeslots conflict.
In version Metro1000 4.02.06.52 and earlier versions, customers cannot configure services but no error is reported. Therefore, it is displayed that the service is successfully configured on the T2000 but the service is actually unavailable. The by order mode is used when the command line is used to configure services. Therefore, the service from the tributary board to timeslot 22 on the OI2D board in slot 2 can be configured successfully.
In version Metro1000 4.02.06.54 and later versions, the error reporting function is added.
Suggestions
You are advised to fixedly set the timeslot mode on the T2000 to by order.
