The Health Check Tool Reports a Non-Default Value of the Version After the Version Upgrade Because the WRT Is Set Manually

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  39 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
In an ASON office, routine health check is performed. The health check result shows that rcvytime (the wait to restore time, WRT) of one OptiX OSN 3500 is not the default value. The SCC version is 5.21.16.13.
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
1. Query the descriptions of health check cases. Query the ASON version of the OptiX OSN 3500. The query result shows that the ASON version is T26. By default, the WRT of the version is 35791 minutes. Run the :mpls-get-rcvytime command to query the WRT, and the query result shows that the WRT is 720 minutes. In the T23 version, the WRT is also 720 minutes. A version upgrade has been performed on the ASON network in an early stage. It is suspected that the WTR is not updated with the network upgrade.
2. The result of consulting R&D engineers shows that the WRT is saved to the database after it is set; if the WRT is not set previously, it is obtained from the code and not saved to the database, and the WRT after the upgrade is the same as the default value of the version.
3. Run the :dbms-query:"mplscfg.dbf",drdb command to query the information in the database. ID = 0004 in the query result indicates the WTR, and its value is 0x02932e00 millisecond, namely, 720 minutes. This option is available in the database, which indicates that the WRT has been set manually.
4. Run the :mpls-set-rcvytime:35791 command to set the WRT to the default value of the version.

Root Cause
When the WRT of an ASON NE is not set manually, the WRT varies with SCC versions. If the WRT of an ASON NE is set through a command, the value of the WRT is fixed during version changes unless you run this command again to modify it.
