The SFUs Cannot Be Registered Because the NE5000E Is in Back-to-Back Mode After Being Upgraded to V200R003C02B609

Issue Description
The version of the NE5000E on the current network is V200R002C01B39L. After the version is upgraded to V200R003C02B609, unexpectedly, the MPUs are found in Slots 33 and 34, and the SFUs are found in Slots 38, 39, 40, and 41. In addition, the four SFUs cannot be registered. Through the logs, the SFUs are found to print equip mode alarms.

Handling Process
Do as follows to modify the configurations in the V200R003C02B609 environment. After the device is restarted, the problem is solved.
1. Run the following command to change the equip mode of the SFUs to common in the diagnosis view:
[NE5000E-diagnose]undo sfu equip-mode
2. Run the following command to change the back-to-back mode of the device to single in the system view:
[LWBP-NE5000E-01]set 0 next-run-mode single 
 
Root Cause
The NE5000E turns to the back-to-back mode because information saved in the NVRAM is in this mode. This may be caused by the incorrect settings of the MPUs configured at the time of delivery. Due to the incorrect settings, the corresponding flag bit is rewritten in the NVRAM. In the original V200R002C01B39L version, this flag bit is neglected. Therefore, the device can work normally. After the device is upgraded to V200R300, the MPUs are identified as in back-to-back mode.
The equip mode information of the SFUs indicates that information saved in the flash memories of the four SFUs is in equip mode. The SFUs in equip mode cannot be registered when the device is in back-to-back mode.
Because the four SFUs cannot be registered, no other service boards can be registered.
