Intra-Board 1+1 Protection Fails to Be Configured Due to a Restriction on the NE Software, and the 'The optical port number exceeds the limit ' Prompt Is Displayed

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  34 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
When you configure intra-board 1+1 protection for the LDMD board on the T2000 of version V200R007C01, if you select IN2 or OUT2 as the working channel, the "The optical port number exceeds the limit" prompt is displayed. This prompt indicates that the protection configuration fails.
Alarm Information
"The optical port number exceeds the limit"
Handling Process
When you configure intra-board 1+1 protection for the LDMD board, select IN1 or OUT1 as the working channel. This ensures successful protection configuration.
Root Cause
Due to a restriction on the NE software of the OptiX OSN 6800, only IN1 or OUT1 can be selected as the working channel and IN2 or OUT2 can be used only as the protection channel when you configure intra-board 1+1 protection for an OTU board.
Suggestions
The restriction on selecting the working and protection channels for an intra-board 1+1 protection group for the LDMD board in the case of the OptiX OSN 6800 is different from that in the case of the OptiX Metro 6100.
