FAQ-Whether bandwidth-reference Set in NE40E OSPF Is Valid to Interfaces Such as VLANIF and Loopback

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  2 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
 Q:
Whether bandwidth-reference set in NE40E OSPF is valid to interfaces such as VLANIF and Loopback.

Alarm Information
 Null
Handling Process
 A:
1. The setting of bandwidth-reference can be valid for VLANIF.
Note that the bandwidth reported by VLANIF is 100 Mbit/s regardless of the actual bandwidth on the interface. Generally, the values of cost for all interfaces during engineering are required to be set to 1. If the setting is performed through bandwidth-reference 1000 in the IGP, only the value of cost for 1000 Mbit/s physical interface is 1. The bandwidth reported by VLANIF is not subject to the bandwidth of the physical interface of the VLAN and is always 100 Mbit/s regardless of the actual bandwidth on the interface. Therefore, the calculated cost of VLANIF is 10.
You can modify cost of VLANIF by using the cost xx command.2. The value of cost for Loopback is 1. The configuration of bandwidth is invalid for Loopback.
