Failure to Search For Fiber Connections with a Certain Probability When the OptiX OSN Equipment and Old Equipment Are Used to Form a Hybrid Network

Issue Description
The OptiX OSN 3500 at a site is configured with the SEP and SLT boards, to which the OptiX Metro 1000 is connected. When an engineer uses the fiber searching function to search for fiber connections between NEs on the T2000. The T2000 displays "126979 No Response. The server is busy or the equipment is performing other operations. Please check and try again." Information about fiber connections after search, however, is displayed on the T2000. When the engineer clicks the fiber creation button to create a fiber on the fiber searching page, "81998 The direction of fiber is wrong" is displayed. Versions of the OptiX OSN 3500 and T2000 are 5.21.16.13 and V200R004C01B01CSPC006 respectively.

Handling Process

1.       Search for fiber connections of certain optical interface boards on the OptiX OSN 3500 on site. It is found that the fiber connections of the optical interface boards can be displayed normally.

2.       Analyze logs of the T2000. It is found that the T2000 returns a timeout event 30s later without waiting for the OptiX OSN 3500 to return data after issuing a command for searching for fiber connections.

3.       When the OptiX OSN equipment is interconnected to old equipment, the fiber searching function requires the cooperation of the T2000, old equipment, and OptiX OSN equipment. In addition, the T2000 delivers configurations to optical interfaces one after another, and thus at least 600 ms is required for the T2000 to search for fiber connections each time. If an NE contains a large number of optical interfaces, the T2000 reports a timeout event due to very long searching time.

The fiber searching function is optimized on the OptiX OSN equipment of V100R007C02. The searching time is reduced greatly. The T2000 can complete searching within the timeout duration (30s), and the fault of the failure to search for fiber connections with a certain probability in the case of interconnection between OptiX OSN equipment and old equipment is rectified.
Root Cause
The time required for searching for fiber connections exceeds 30s due to too many optical interfaces on NEs.
