Issue Description
See the figure in the attached document. If the port working mode of the LOG board and that of its connected router are set to 1000 Mbps full duplex, router A can be switched to the standby router when the transmitting fiber is disconnected from the LOG board on NE1. Router B, however, is not switched to the standby router. Therefore, the service is interrupted.

Handling Process
To avoid this problem, change the port working mode at both ends to auto-negotiation.
Root Cause

1.         Set the port working mode of the LOG board and that of its connected router to 1000 Mbps full duplex.

2.         Disconnect the transmitting fiber from the LOG board on NE1. Router A is switched to the standby router because a local link failure is detected. As the port working mode is set to 1000 Mbps full duplex, router A emits light continuously. LOG A does not trigger the LPT function because it cannot detect a link failure. As a result, router B does not trigger active/standby switching.

3.         Set the port working mode of the LOG board and that of its connected router to auto-negotiation.

4.         Disconnect the transmitting fiber from the LOG board on NE1. Router A is switched to the standby router because a local link failure is detected. LOG A triggers the LPT function because it detects a Link_ERR alarm. As a result, LOG B disables the local connection. Router B triggers active/standby switching due to the link failure. The service remains normal.

Suggestions
The working mode of the GE port needs to be set to auto-negotiation when the LPT function is enabled.
