Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  38 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
By default "pim sm" command is unavailable in Vlan-if view of NE40.
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
After using "property routing" command under Vlan-if view we can see "pim sm" command now available for executing:
#
interface Vlanif1001
 property routing
 pim sm
#
Root Cause
To let PIM protocol to estublish neighbor adjacency based on Vlan-if, before applying "PIM SM" command, You should switch route attribute of the VLANIF interface to "routing" (by default route attribute of Vlan-if is "bridging").
To switch route attribute of the VLANIF interface to "routing" You should use "property routing" command under corresponding Vlan-if view.
Suggestions
Before apply "pim sm" command under Vlan-if view make sure You switched  VLANIF route attribute to "routing".
Please be noted:
The route attribute of the VLANIF interface can be configured as "routing" only when there is only one port belonging to the VLAN.  Otherwise, the route attribute of the VLANIF interface can be configured as bridging only.
