Issue Description
On a point-to-point network consisting of the OptiX OSN 6800, services are added at station A, passes through station B, and then are dropped at station C. In system commissioning, it is found that the optical power of the IN port on the FIU board at station C is �12 dBm but the optical power of the TC port on the FIU board at station C is �38 dBm. This means that insertion loss reaches 26 dB.

Handling Process
The FIU board is a multiplexing/demultiplexing board. The IN port of the FIU board receives signals from the opposite end. Then, the TC port outputs main optical path signals and the TM port outputs the supervisory channel signals. The field engineer measures the optical power of the TM port and the measured value is �12 dBm, which means that the IN port of the FIU board at station C may receive only the supervisory channel signals sent from the SC1 board at station A but no main optical path signals. The field engineer checks fiber connections and finds that the connector of the fiber from the M40 board at station A is not properly installed on the FIU board at station C. Then, the field engineer re-installs the fiber and the optical power of the TC port at station C becomes normal.
