No Image Display due to Incompatibility Between Cocycle KVM Data Cable and Sun T5220 (with Video Card)

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  80 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
No image is displayed after Cocycle KVM-1708 integrated display is connected to Sun T5220 (with video card) during deployment. Images are displayed successfully if a standalone display, a mouse, and a keyboard are connected.
Alarm Information

The following error message is displayed at the system start:

Handling Process

1. Workaround: Connect any universal serial bus (USB) mouse to the T5220 and restart OS. Then images are displayed successfully.

2. Solution: Apply to TQC Deng Dakan (00159807) in HQ for KVM data cables. Images can be displayed successfully and the KVM mouse can be used properly after KVM data cables are replaced.
Root Cause

1. The condition for Sun server to start the graphical user interface (GUI) is that Sun server can detect the mouse, keyboard, and display.

2. For the T5220 + Cocycle KVM delivered before July 8, 2010, the T5220 fails to detect the KVM mouse due to incompatibility between the KVM connection cable and the T5220. As a result, no image is displayed.
Suggestions
Change KVM data cables if Cocycle KVM and Sun T5220 (with video card) are incompatible.
