Mismatched overhead between MA5600T and OSN3500 caused mistiming of STM-1 stream

Issue Description

Interconnection scenario: MA5600T with OSN3500 via STM-1 channel.

MA5600T is connected using TOPA board with 02CE subbboard. Software version is V800R007C00SPC300

Topology is the following: OSN3500 <---> MA5600T

Physical link is normal but STM-1 stream can not be synchronized correctly.


Alarm Information

The following error appeared:

Handling Process

1. Set J0 and J1 values to 0 and type of byte to "Long" for test. Let`s see the result:

2. J0 and J1 values received are incorrect and looks strange.

3. Set J0 and J1 values to 111111111111111 on both devices.

4. Found that MA5600T sends J0 and J1 frames not 111.. but 313131....

5. 31:31:31... is the 111... but in HEX value.
Different character`s format caused inconsistence of J0 and J1 bytes received.

6. MA5600T can send frames only in ASCII format. Correspondend data format need to be choosed on OSN3500.

7. Checked again the received values:

8. Checked the port state and found that errors were rectified

Root Cause

1. Physical connection was checked and found no fault.

2. Checked STM port state. Port status is active

3. Checked port state details and found J0MM and HPTIM errors:

J0MM error corresponds to the J0 byte mismatch
HPTIM corresponds to J1 byte mismatch

Overhead values for J0 and J1 between MA5600T and OSN3500 are not consistent.

4. Checked overhead value and found that there is no response from OSN3500 to MA5600T

Suggestions
For STM-1 interconnection between MA5600T and SDH/STM -transmission equipment always check overhead values and set up correct data format on both devices to ASCII
