FAQ- In the U2000V100R002 (and previous version), How to expand all submaps when the total NE's in the server is more than 1000

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  29 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

When we expand all submaps in the U2000V100R002 (and previous version) and the total NE's in the server is more than 1000 NE's, the next message appears "Cannot expand all submaps because there is a large number of nodes in the active submap" (see the image 1) and don't allow expand the NE's in the main topology.

Null

Handling Process

To solve this problem, we can modify the parameter Forbid_Value in the configuration file of U2000 in the path U2000\client\style\productstyle\unitedmgr\conf\topo\expandallnenumconf.xml by a value that covers all the NEs that are currently on the server.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Close the U2000 client and Backup the U2000\client\configuration folder
2. Modify the Forbid_Value in the path:
U2000\client\style\productstyle\unitedmgr\conf\topo\expandallnenumconf.xml
3. Start the U2000 client
4. Delete the backup of U2000\client\configuration folder if it works.
Note:
You can open and modify the expandallnenumconf.xml file using NotePad, WordPad or other text procesor application (see the images 4 and 5)

Root Cause

The message when trying to expand all submaps in the main topology is due to that in the server there are more than 1000 NE's, (see the image 2).
The server is bound to expand all submaps until the Total NEs is 1000 by default in the server installation process. This parameter can be seen in the configuration file of the U2000, in the next path:
U2000\client\style\productstyle\unitedmgr\conf\topo\expandallnenumconf.xml (see the image 3).
