Description: E1’s cross connection matching between IFU2 & SP3S board

Alarm Information
Operation Failed: Configuration is canceled. Error Code: 42293
Operation Failed: Invalid parameters. Error Code: 38722



Handling Process

A. check the IF interface if the e1’s capacity can handle the needed configuration (16 E1’s):

press on IFU2 board------function tree------ configuration ---------IF interface-------AM advance attributes

the E1’s capacity should be 16 E1’s at list.

B. Tried to create the CC E1 by E1 with U2000 client:

operation successful for E1 number 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16

C. Tried to create the CC between E1# 2 in SP3S & E1#2 in IFU2 (operation failed)

error code 42293 (configuration is canceled & invalid parameter)
this problem reason is because the numbering is different between two numbering schemes for vc-12 timeslots.
in order numbering the E1 number 2 mean E1 numbers 22 in interleaved scheme numbering, therefore when i tried to make CC is failed because the E1 is already used in another CC.

D. Tried to create the CC between E1# 2 in SP3S & E1#22 in IFU2 (operation successful)

in order numbering the E1 number 2 mean E1 numbers 22 in interleaved scheme numbering. that’s mean i make CC between E1# 2 SP3S & E1# 2 IFU2

E. Tried to create the CC E1 by E1 with U2000weblct:

Root Cause
The Numbering Schemes for SDH Timeslots, there are two numbering schemes for VC-12 timeslots are applicable to SDH optical/electrical lines or SDH radio links
  • By order
This timeslot numbering scheme is also considered as timeslot scheme. The numbering formula is as follows: VC-12 number = TUG-3 number + (TUG-2 number - 1) x 3 + (TU-12 number -1) x 21.
This scheme is the numbering scheme recommended by ITU-T G.707 and is the default scheme adopted by the OptiX equipment.
  • Interleaved scheme
This timeslot numbering scheme is also considered as line scheme. The numbering formula is as follows: VC-12 number = (TUG-3 number - 1) x 21 + (TUG-2 number -1) x 3 + TU-12 number.
The OptiX equipment can adopt this scheme when it interconnects with the equipment that adopts the interleaved scheme or when a specific timeslot numbering scheme is required




Suggestions
  • A VC-3 timeslot number corresponds to a TUG-3 number. If you need to configure cross-connections of VC-3s and VC-12s in the same VC-4, note that the timeslots in the TUG-3 that are occupied by the VC-3 cross-connections cannot be configured for VC-12 cross-connections.
  • When we make the cross-connections we it’s better to make it in 2 end by same NMS U2000 WebLCT or U2000 Client.
  • Check the Numbering Schemes in all cards before make to CC.
