FAQ - Can we use the two Ethernet combo interfaces in the RPU of NE20E-8 to carry traffic normally

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  157 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Q:
Whether the two ethernet combo interfaces in the RPU of NE20E-8 router can be used to carry traffic normally? For example to be connected to an ipdslam.

Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
A:
The two ethernet combo interfaces have the remote login telnet function and can be used for the board or system debugging, testing, the background operation, the fault diagnosis, the online upgrading and the remote operation, but they can't be used to carry service traffic, there is one internal channel between SRU and LPU which carries protocol packets and system control packets. if large amounts of traffic is lead to SRU board through these two ports, it will use up most of the bandwidth of this internal channel, and will endanger the protocal packets and system control packets.
Root Cause
Null
Suggestions
It is not suggested to use these two ports as service interfaces.
