RTN 950 ERPS Ring East ports and West ports are configured in the horizontal group lead to switching fail

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  57 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

In K circle ,I country, we use RTN 950 to buildup the network, since that contains many vlan services ,so we configured ERPS protection. But when we tested the ERPS ,we found that the switching was not working

Alarm Information
Null

Handling Process
1, We checked the RPL site, confirm that only one RPL site is there.
2, We checked control vlan ID, this ID in each NE must be the same, and this control vlan ID must be different
from service vlan ID.
3, We checked all the ports we are using were enabled, including IFH2.(it is forgettable)
4, We checked the all the card version:
a) The SCC soft version must be 5.54.05.12 or 5.54.05.13.
b) The EMS6 card version must be 3.02 or 3.03.
c) The IFH2 card version must be u13(210), u25(220) or u13(200),u25(210).
5, We checked east ports & west ports used in the ring, and east ports & west ports mustn’t be in horizontal
group.
At last ,we found that some east ports and west ports are configured in the horizontal group,so we modified them ,then the ERPS work fine.

Root Cause
1. Ports directions configured wrongly.
2. Ports are wrongly configured in horizontal group.

Suggestions

When we configure the ERPS ,we have to pay attention to the card version, and also we have to check the confuguration as above description.
