Corba interface do not report complete trail list due to parametres of OSS request message

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  31 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Customer report the problem with Corba NBI Interface, that he cannot get list of all WDM trails. Customer use these information in higher OSS to identify the alarm source.
Alarm Information
No alarm on U2000 server. Only the number of trails in higher OSS is not the same like in U2000.
Handling Process
I have querry the CORBA logs from U2000 to find the problem, these logs are stored on /opt/U2000/server/logs/NBI/ In unbi_corbaoper_xxxxx.log  I found the time around 22:00 and check the requests one by one which has been recieved by U2000 CORBA. Then I found the relevant request MultiLayerSubnetworkMgr_I.getAllSubnetworkConnectionNames and check it parametres:

From this log I found that parameter number 3 has been set to 5000. From CORBA NBI documentation I found, that this parameter means "Maximum quantity of pieces of data that is returned for the first time."

Based on this I suggest to customer change this parameter to 10 000 to get all SNC trails.
Root Cause
After data analyze from OSS, I found that the number of reported WDM trails is 5000. But in U2000 WDM trail management, the amounth of WDM trails are 9514.
I have ask customer to provide the description of CORBA request which they are using by OSS and time when they send this request to U2000 CORBA to querry required information.
Customer use MultiLayerSubnetworkMgr_I.getAllSubnetworkConnectionNames request to querry all SNC (WDM trails) and querry these information between 22:00 to 24:00 everyday.
Suggestions
If you meet the problem with CORBA, check the NBI logs first to found the problem.
