FAQ-SFP configure in RTN980

Issue Description
Equipment: RTN 980 equipment
Version: V100R003C00_02
NE:  DMR060
Date: 2011-11-17.
Description: SFP not configured
  • One of CSHN Basic board functions is to Receives and transmits 2xSTM-1/4 signals.
  • Port specifications could be:
STM-1: Ie-1, S-1.1, L-1.1, and L-1.2
STM-4: S-4.1, L-4.1, and L-4.2
The performance characteristics of the ports comply with ITU-T G.957 and the jitter performance of the ports complies with ITU-T G.823.
  • When we add the SFP to the port it’s not working, we try to make CC in SL4D by web LCT the operation failed.


Alarm Information
Operation Object: NE(9-8) 21-SL4D-2(SDH-2)-Optical(Electrical) interface Loopback.
Operation Result: Operation Faild.
Reason: Not supported board tybe-error code 38664

Handling Process
Action done on site by U2000 Client V1R3:
  • Right click in CSHN SFP port we found that the SFP have some function can change
  • Query Relevant Protection Subnet
  • Add Port



  • After press add port we get tree parameter:
  • Port: 1 or 2
  • Type: Optical interface or Electrical interface
  • Level: STM-1 or STM-4
  • Apply the needed configuration as STM-1 and Optical Interface.
  • Make the CC again: the operation success.


Root Cause
Action done on site by U2000 WebLCT V1R3:
  • Change the SFP: Nothing change.
  • Use the protection CSHN board: Nothing change.
After analyzing we found that the SPF is not appearing in U2000 WebLCT.



Suggestions
  • Check the SFP port by U2000 not by WebLCT
  • Make sure that we need Type: Optical interface or Electrical interface and Level: STM-1 or STM-4
