S2600 Storage Device Unable to Connect to Hosts Through iSCSI

Issue Description

In a project, users fail to mount hard disks through iSCSI. The initiator names can be found when the command iscsiadm -m discovery -t st -p targetip is executed; however, the login fails when the command iscsiadm –m node –p targetip –l is executed, and the system prompts that the iSCSI driver is abnormal .

Handling Process
  1. Run the Open iSCSI installer on the Red Hat 5.0 CD-ROM disc 1.
  2. After the installation completes, run the command iscsiadm –m node –p targetip –l to activate the initiators.
Root Cause
  1. The initiator names can be found when the command iscsiadm -m discovery -t st -p targetip is executed.
  2. However, the login fails when the command iscsiadm –m node –p targetip –l is executed, and thet system prompts that the iSCSI driver is abnormal.
Conclusion:
  • The S2600 fails to connect to hosts through iSCSI due to inconsistent Open iSCSI versions.
Suggestions

The Open iSCSI version must be consistent with that of the OS.
