OSM Cannot Be Accessed Due to The Proxy Setting of The IE Browser

Publication Date:  2012-07-23 Views:  30 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
A PC is directly connected to the management network port of a storage device. The IP addresses of the PC and the management network port are configured on the same network segment. The network can be pinged through but the OSM cannot be accessed. A prompt is displayed, stating "The web page cannot be displayed."
Alarm Information
None
Handling Process
Open the IE browser, click Tools, and select Internet Options. In the dialog box, choose Connections > LAN Settings, and deselect Use a proxy server for your LAN.Open the IE browser, click Tools, and select Internet Options. In the dialog box, choose Connections > LAN Settings, and deselect Use a proxy server for your LAN.
Root Cause
The OSM can be normally accessed only after the network is available and the browser settings are correct. In this case, the management network port can be pinged through in CLI mode, but the Web page fails to be accessed. The cause is that a proxy is set on the PC.
Suggestions
With the usage of the CRM system, our engineers now often access the external web sites by using a proxy. It is recommended to check whether the proxy in PCs is disabled when the OSM needs to be used in maintenance.
