Due to the Session Table Aging Time, Download Speed is Low After the P2P Traffic Restriction is Disabled on USG5300

Publication Date:  2012-07-23 Views:  2 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
After the P2P interzone traffic restriction is disabled on the USG5300, the Xunlei download speed on a client PC is still slow.
Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process
  1. Check the USG5300 configuration. firewall p2p-car default-permit is not found. The global P2P traffic restriction is disabled.
  2. On the client PC, use Xunlei to download the same resource again. The download speed is higher than the previous task.
  3. Run the reset  firewall  session  table command on the firewall to clear the session table. Then the download speeds of all tasks are normal.
Root Cause
  1. The global P2P traffic restriction is enabled. It still works after the interzone P2P traffic restriction
is disabled.
  1. The problem is caused by session table aging time.
Suggestions
When you encounter the problem that an adjustment of the firewall policy does not take effect immediately, consider the session table aging time as a possible cause.
