Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  32 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
On the USG2220, the maximum number of login users is set to 15. When login through Telnet, only a maximum of four users can log in. The configuration is as follows:
user-interface maximum-vty 15
user-interface con 0
user-interface vty 0 3
 authentication-mode aaa
 user privilege level 3
 idle-timeout 0
user-interface vty 4 14
 user privilege level 3
 idle-timeout 0
Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process
1. Perform configurations in the user-interface vty 0 14 view. Check the configuration. The virtual terminal consists of user-interface vty 0 3 and user-interface vty 4  14.
2. In the user-interface vty 4  14 view, run the authentication-mode AAA command.
3. Test the USG2200 again. More users can log in. Run the disp cu command. The current configuration is as follows:
user-interface maximum-vty 15
user-interface con 0
user-interface vty 0 14
 authentication-mode aaa
 user privilege level 3
 idle-timeout 0 0
Root Cause
The configuration is incorrect. The authentication of user-interface vty 4 14 is not configured.
Suggestions
The configuration in the user-interface vty 0 14 view does not take effect. Because user-interface vty consists of two parts. The configuration takes effect only after the two parts are consistently configured.
