Publication Date:  2012-09-24 Views:  56 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
When a site upgrading, plug SAS RAID card, connect front disk expander with SAS lines, reboot T3000server, power on main board and startup. We cannot find system disk and load OS fault.
Alarm Information
Null
Handling Process
Reboot system, and press “ctrl+c” to enter RAID configuration interface in rebooting process. Select Boot Order in last line and press Insert to enter modifying pattern, then press “delete” to delete the Order value in main board and modify SAS RAID Order value to “0”, Order value in main board to “1”. Save and reboot server. Loading system disk succeed.
Root Cause
Reboot T3000 server, and press “ctrl+c” to enter RAID configuration interface in rebooting process. We can find the new RAID card(FW Revision is “1.31.00.00”), and the Boot Order value is null. But in the C1068E chip in main board(FW Revision is “1.28.00.00”), the Boot Order value is 0. So it cannot associate disk ,which leads system loading error.
Suggestions
In the process of configuring RAID parameter, we can select main board integration C1068E, and enter parameter configuration. Set its property to disabled, which reduce the interference to SAS RAID card.
