Issue Description
esx version: esx 4.1i
1. Use the customer’s computer to login in the “vsphere client” operating interface.

2. Upload a virtual file to the ISO who is a datastore, we find the uploading speed is not bad, and don’t appear the I/O error, then test the 4GB ISO file, it’s also normal.
3. Then the customer uploads a “DS” file and appears the I/O error.

Alarm Information
None
Handling Process
1. Delete the “DS” file, upload this file once again, and the error still exists, test it repeatedly and the error appears each time.
2. Upload another file “VEEM”, we find it can complete; in order to exclude the probability problem, we delete the file and upload it again, then we haven’t meet any problem.
3. Compare the file “DS” with “VEEM”, we find there are picture in the “DS” file. Upload a single picture on this datastore, immediately there appears a “occur the I/O errors” pop-up dialog box. Then we can conclude is a certain mechanism of the datastore of the esx4.1i which confines the file of the picture format to upload.
Root Cause
See from the surface, the customer may consider it’s that the storage isn’t steady, which causing there is I/O error when uploading the file. However, see from the testing, when we upload the high-capacity ISO file, there hasn’t appear the I/O error, and upload the small-capacity file there appear the I/O error, see from the rule, it may be correlative with the file’s format.
