Issue Description
(a) When the Huawei Symantec storage device interconnecting with the AIX midrange computer for the first time, if the host port correlated with the disk array displays offline, and can’t connect, as the gray port of the host in the red circle in the figure 1;
(b) While the Huawei Symantec storage device interconnecting with the AIX midrange computer, if there hasn’t IO for a long time, the host port correlated with the disk array displays inline, but from the host initiator manager on the disk array, we find the initiator’s connection status is uncollected, as the black port of the host in the red circle in the figure 1.

Handling Process
For the (a) phenomena, all kinds of the AIX midrange computers are “slow” for the first connecting in storage device, they won’t create connection automatically, we need to delete the host port device connecting with the disk array or restart the AIX midrange computer, in the side of the host, execute “cfgmgr” to rescan the device, it can connect normally, and once the connection has created, it can access normally from then on.
For the (b) phenomena, we just need to execute the “cfgmgr” in the side of the host to rescan the device, the detail measures are as followed:
(1). In the host, input the command “lsdev –Cc adapter|grep  fcs”, check the HBA card devices in the host, as the following picture displayed: the host has the two HBA card devices, fcs0 and fcs1.

(2) Enter the command “lscfg –vpl fcsx” (where, x denotes the specific device number, such as the following picture displayed, the x denotes 1) to check each HBA card’s WWN, and then confirm the host HBA card device according to the WWN, as the following picture displayed: “10000000C9447DA7” is corresponded with the HBA card device “fcs1”.

(3) Enter the command “rmdev –dl fcsx –R”, delete the host HBA card device connected with the disk array in the side of the host.

(4) After completing to delete, repeat the step (1), check the HBA card device, we find the fcs1 has been deleted.

(5) Enter the command “cfgmgr” to scan the device.

(6) After have scanned, repeat the step (1) to view the HBA card device and we find the fcs1 appears again.
