how to reinstall the Galax system after exchanging two servers in the cluster

Publication Date:  2013-03-04 Views:  60 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
in one cluster, we have two servers which have different configurations, after installing the system, we find that we should exchange them back. but when we reinstall the new system, it is failed.
Alarm Information
linux system install failed
Handling Process
1. change the relationship between node name and MAC infor in the MAC table of MN node
2. change the BMC information on the MNPortal
3. run the command 'makedhcp -d nodename' to clear the rent information
Root Cause
in the MAC table in MN node, we record the relationship between node name and the MAC of servers. in addition, the BMC IP of servers are also exchanged, so the information about BMC IP in MNPortal is wrong. thirdly, because the system has been installed one time, there is some DHCP rent information in the configuration file, it will be difficult to get the ip again during the reinstalling progress.
Suggestions
before install system in the server, we should do a detailed plan to avoid a mistake.
