One way RTP on GPON enviroment

Publication Date:  2013-05-07 Views:  128 Downloads:  1
Issue Description
Where VLAN separation of data flow and voice flow is required, one way RTP may occur if the eSpace U1930 gateway isn’t configured with the same VLAN IDs used on the switch and on the ONT.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
The client was asked to enter the VLan configuration on U1930 based on the VLan configuration made by him on the switch, entering the same VLan IDs on both equipments.
Root Cause
The cause analysis was made identifying the equipment which stopped the RTP flow, requesting the client to capture packets with Wireshark on different points on the network.
Because there is no complex configurations for VLans on the eSpace U1930 gateway, to enter IPs or other features, QoS configuration, in this case, is made using the same VLan IDs of the peer device ( switch, ONT ) .
